Analytical Chemistry Lab
A lab and analysis workflow for connecting plant chemistry with cultivation decisions.
Measuring what the plants produce
This lab work focused on measuring compounds in plant material and connecting those measurements to genetics and growing conditions.
My work included the lab layout, equipment procurement, setup, and checks that the instruments were installed and operating correctly. Sample preparation, methods, and reporting all needed to support repeatable analysis.
The workflow
- A Waters Acquity ARC ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (uHPLC) platform.
- Method development for measuring 14 target compounds in one analysis.
- Procedures for preparing samples, operating the instrument, and reporting results.
- A data pipeline connecting chemical profiles to cultivation conditions.
The purpose was to make chemical analysis useful for routine production decisions, not leave the results isolated in the lab.
